Reroll Operator- Starting at $19/hr

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Reroll Operator to join our manufacturing team in Topeka, KS. This is a full time employment opportunity offering competitive pay, benefits and PTO during the first year of employment.After 6 months, there will be opportunity for advancement into a Mill Operator Trainee role with increase in compensation!

Primary Responsibilities

• Receives instructions and schedules from plant supervision.
• Adheres to Contech’s Employees Expectations.
• Assists HEL-COR Operator in performing diameter changes, coil changes/splices, and mill re-tooling (mill change over).
• Operates overhead crane, coil buggy or forklift to assist in coil changes.
• Inspects rolled ends for defects and that it meets specifications.
• Tests lock-seam with dimple tester (lock-seam HEL-COR pipe).
• When necessary, trims end of pipe using cutting torch or other metal cutting method to ensure ends are straight.
• Operates annular roll end equipment to reform ends of HEL-COR pipe.
• When required by SOP, re-touches (paints) ends of pipe with either polymeric touch up paint or zinc paint.
• Grades pipe and marks for repair.
• Marks pipe with length, gauge and status identifiers.
• Changes diameter set-up on annular roll equipment.
• Overrides automatic control for manual operation of equipment when necessitated by abnormal product or equipment conditions.
• Checks for errors and ensure quality of finished product.
• Maintains equipment and area in clean, orderly conditions.
• Other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with precision instruments.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
